What is it?
In former times, yoga instruction for adults was not in groups but only ever on a one-to-one basis, so as to adapt to the specific needs of each person. Today, personal instruction is still the ideal way to begin or to deepen one’s personal yoga practice; it allows for individual needs, desires, abilities, and even schedules: the opposite of “one size fits all”!
When it is used wisely, yoga has the power to support wellness, healing and personal transformation, whether you are simply looking to stay healthy, to recover from an injury, or to deal with a chronic condition.
In our approach, we also work with patients and health care providers to address a range of conditions and support healing. Here are a few examples of situations where yoga therapy forms an integral part of a health management program, in some cases in consultation with health care providers:
stress | scoliosis |
menopausal symptoms | high blood pressure |
sleep disorders | diabetes |
depression | eating disorders |
recovery from injuries and trauma | hormonal imbalances |
back pain | pregnancy |
arthritis | post-natal care |
disorders of the nervous system |
How does it work?
First of all, we ask you to fill out the health questionnaire. Then you make an appointment with the teacher for the initial consultation to discuss your needs and objectives. This first meeting is usually longer than the subsequent ones. Based on this assessment the teacher prepares a customised program and you go home to do it on your own. In the first few weeks you will meet the teacher again two or three more times and based on your feedback the program will be fine tuned. Your practice may combine some of the following tools:
conscious movements and exercises (āsana),
regulation of the energy by conscious breathing (prānāyāma),
visualisation,
guided self-enquiry,
sounds or some chanting for those who are inclined (non religious),
symbolic gestures,
dietary and lifestyle advice (ahāra-niyama, vihāra-niyama)
It is important that you practice daily (or at least as often as you can) for your practice to have some effect.
Your program may vary in length depending on your situation. Even 10 or 15 minutes a day can help. It will always be realistic and within your capacity.
How do you remember the order of the practice and how to do it?
We draw it for you on A4 paper, with the relevant information.
Because it may take a few weeks for your practice to be established and for you to gradually make it a part of your life, we ask that you invest in four classes a few weeks apart (allowing for holidays, travel, etc.). After these four sessions, it is up to you to schedule further meetings or not.

Rate: SG$480 for the first 4 sessions, includes the initial consultation and three follow-up sessions.
Subsequent classes are SG$ 120 each (1 hour).
