Yoga Studies

600 hours Yoga Teacher Training | 2022

We strongly believe that it takes time and commitment to mature into a yoga teacher, so we do not offer “fast-track” trainings. This program is unique in Perth for its depth and scope. It runs for two years, allowing for the slow integration of these profound teachings. Many graduates of our past courses have not taken it to teach but to weave yoga into themselves, their habits, their life, and help them realise their potential. However, if you plan to teach yoga in the future, this course also exceeds both national and international requirements to become an insightful and multi-dimensional yoga teacher.

Note: maximum 12 participants. Next course intake 2024.

We have been running this course in Singapore since 2008, so based on our experience, modules have been fine-tuned to ensure a clear, structured delivery of the contents.

Each module is designed to introduce topics gradually over 20 training week-ends and 2 retreats spread over two years. It means that when you tackle new concepts or practices, there is plenty of time to link them together, integrate what you learn and build on it before moving on to other topics.

Most modules are studied in parallel, not separately. For example, within the same training week-end you may be studying a section of the Yoga-Sūtra about meditation (module 4), exploring the technical aspects of meditation (module 5.4), and applying them in the teaching practicum (module 6.2).

In between the training week-ends, you will have readings, preparation of written assignments and oral presentations. This will help you reflect on the whole experience, practice your skills, and integrate the material outside of the classroom.

Besides the technical study of wide range of postures, you will explore topics such as:

  • Practical philosophy of the Yoga-Sūtras,
  • Context of yoga’s evolution from ancient to modern times,
  • Vedic and non-Vedic texts as the roots of yoga,
  • Course planning,
  • Pedagogy of teaching applied in teaching practicum,
  • 14 prāṇāyāma techniques,
  • Anatomy and physiology, anatomy of movement,
  • Theory and practice of meditation,
  • Vedic chanting,
  • … and more.

And of course, mentoring and personal practice are the building blocks of this process.
