Chapter 1 | Yoga-Sūtra Webinar 2023
About this webinar
The first aphorism presents the topic: atha yoga-anuśāsanam, “now, yoga begins”. This simple phrase is pregnant with meaning, for the teacher must be ready to transmit, and the student to receive.
I have been teaching this ongoing master class series on Patañjali’s Yoga-Sūtra since 2013, tackling one chapter per year, and thus completing the study of the four chapters within four years. 2022 was about chapter 4, so in 2023 we will start again from the beginning with chapter 1.
- A detailed, in-depth study of each aphorism with explanation of their meaning and commentaries, as taught by TKV Desikachar and Frans Moors.
- Reflections and insights on yoga’s practical philosophy applied in everyday life.
- You will receive supporting written materials before each class.
- 9 classes. 18 hours.
- The class recording is sent to you each time for catch up or review
Valerie Fimat-Faneco has been studying and teaching the Yoga-Sūtra for many years. In 2012 she translated a commentary of the Yoga-Sūtra based on Mr Desikachar’s and Professor Krishnamacharya’s teachings, written in French by her mentor Frans Moors. Valerie has also been practicing and teaching Vedic chanting for many years. She has been offering tuition on the Yoga-Sūtra and other topics of Yoga philosophy live and by video-conference since 2013.
